Canal Grande Treasure
A private residence turned by FAI, The National Trust for Italy,
into a special museum full of history.
Canal Grande Treasure is a typical bourgeois house in a fifteenth-century palazzo, Ca’ Contarini, that displays the art collection assembled by its donors, Bortoli couple. Silver, painting, textile, furnishing and artworks collections give that taste of Venetian Eighteenth century. The marriage story is told by books, photos and clothes which give life to the whole house. The view from the salon is breathtaking: the palace overlooks directly the Grand Canal and the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute. The salons, the dining rooms and the portego are ideal to host gala dinners and refined events: the Grand Canal view gives charm and lure to any kind of date.
