Chile National Pavilion at The Venice Biennale
This year we collaborated to the realisation of the National Pavilion of Chile, represented by artist Valeria Montti Colque with her extraordinary project Cosmonación, curated by Andrea Pacheco González. The exhibition is hosted inside the historic Tesa 42 of the Venice Military Arsenal, a context of great importance for the city, which is normally closed to the public. This makes a visit to the exhibition a unique opportunity to discover an otherwise inaccessible space.
Cosmonación invites us to reflect on the concepts of nation, exile, migration and diaspora, connecting the public to contemporary debates on questions such as ‘Who am I?’ and ‘Where am I?’. The project explores the intricate process of ‘territorialisation of existence’ (Kusikidi, 2020), with an approach that embraces different identities.
Unique Location and Site-Specific Project
The Tesa 42 in the Arsenale, chosen for the Chile Pavilion, is one of the few locations in Venice capable of accommodating such an imposing structure. The pavilion has made the most of the verticality of the space, which, thanks to the presence of a mezzanine, allows a 360-degree view of Montti Colque's work. The areas below, which are more in the half-light, host videos that enrich the visitor's experience.
Our work included not only location scouting, but also the management of the space on a regulatory and bureaucratic level, making it possible to open this location usually closed to the public. Our experience allowed us to adapt this unique space, ensuring that it could welcome the public safely and in compliance with current regulations.
Opening Hours and Useful Information
The Cosmonación exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Tesa 42 of the Arsenale Militare, located at the Marina Militare, Fondamenta Case Nuove, 2738/C, Venice.
Thanks to our expertise in managing events in unique and historically relevant contexts, we have contributed to making a valuable space accessible to the public, creating an immersive and memorable cultural experience.
