Let me warm you Estonian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025
As part of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, the Estonian Ministry of Culture presents Let me warm you, an exhibition and installation curated by Keiti Lige, Elina Liiva, and Helena Männa. We contributed to the realization of the pavilion, supporting the project from the selection of the venue through to its opening to the public.
An inhabited pavilion
The Estonian Pavilion is hosted in a residential building located at Riva dei Sette Martiri 1611, in the Castello district. A real, lived-in place, temporarily transformed to host a critical reflection on renovation and insulation processes—key themes within the broader European strategy for energy transition.
The façade of the building has been clad with insulation panels using methods typical of mass housing renovations in Estonia. By intervening directly on an existing structure rather than within a neutral exhibition space, the project raises important questions about the role of the architect, collective decision-making, and the quality of our built environment.
An installation about people
On the ground floor, a temporarily converted apartment hosts the exhibition, wrapped in plastic film. Here, models, texts, and installations come together. At its center stands a scaled reconstruction of a Soviet-era apartment block, serving as the setting for a series of micro-narratives exploring the tensions, aspirations, and contradictions that accompany collective renovation processes.
Through theatrical dialogue and exaggerated spatial scenarios, Let me warm you invites visitors to consider how climate policies are translated into real-world decisions—sometimes effective, sometimes disconnected from the complexities of everyday life.
Our contribution
This project required careful coordination between architectural intervention and public accessibility. We oversaw venue scouting, building safety compliance, logistical and regulatory support for the installation, and coordination throughout the setup and public opening phases. Our experience with unconventional sites was essential in supporting the project's site-specific approach.
Let me warm you is open to visitors from May 10 to November 23, 2025, Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Riva dei Sette Martiri 1611, Castello, Venice
