SPACECRAFTED
Thailand Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025

On the occasion of the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, we also collaborated on the realization of the Thailand Pavilion. The exhibition SPACECRAFTED: Spatialized – Negotiations within Thai Design Ecosystems, curated by Chutayaves Sinthuphan and promoted by the Thai Ministry of Culture, presents design as a collective, adaptive, and regenerative practice—rooted in tradition yet open to change.

The pavilion is hosted at Castello Gallery, an exhibition space we manage just steps away from the Biennale’s Giardini, selected to house a project that blends craftsmanship, research, spirituality, and environmental responsibility. Our expertise was crucial in adapting this venue to the complexity of the Thai project, ensuring full accessibility and regulatory compliance.

A Pavilion as a Map of Thai Design

SPACECRAFTED offers an interpretation of Thai design as a fluid ecosystem structured around five foundational elements: Resources, Knowledge, Design Thinking, Heritage, and Spirituality. The exhibition explores how these pillars support an interconnected system of designers, artisans, architects, producers, educators, and conservators who operate within a resilient, sustainable, and constantly evolving model.

Through installations, built projects, visual narratives, and research materials, the pavilion highlights collaborative practices that transcend disciplinary boundaries, transforming architecture into a space of mediation between people, environments, and territories.

A Process of Negotiation with the Present

In SPACECRAFTED, the Thailand Pavilion becomes more than just an exhibition—it is a platform for reflection and exchange. The featured projects address specific environmental, social, and cultural challenges through solutions that combine technical precision, local memory, and global awareness. Here, design is not presented as a finished object but as a situated practice, capable of absorbing constraints, translating them into opportunities, and generating lasting impact.

Our Contribution

We supported the Thai curatorial and institutional team throughout the realization of the pavilion, overseeing the entire process: from venue selection to logistical and technical management, spatial adaptation, and public opening. Our knowledge of the Venetian context allowed us to facilitate the integration of the project into a complex historical and operational environment, while preserving the identity and coherence of the curatorial narrative.

Visiting the Pavilion

The Thailand Pavilion will be open to the public from May 10 to November 23, 2025, from Tuesday to Sunday, at Galleria Castello, in the Castello district of Venice. The exhibition invites visitors to explore Thai design as an ecological and cultural practice through an immersive, dialogical journey—offering a view of the present and the possibilities of the future.
